ChatGPT Ads are now sold in 89 countries. On 21 October 2026 OpenAI added 26 markets, including 14 more in Latin America, and said over 100,000 advertisers have run campaigns since ads launched just over eight months earlier.
Ads appear only on the Free and Go plans; Plus, Pro and Enterprise stay ad-free. Advertiser figures are OpenAI's own, and there is no independent data yet on cost per click or return on ad spend.

Where ChatGPT Ads are available
OpenAI names Argentina, Chile, Colombia and Peru among the new Latin American markets. Nigeria, South Africa, Serbia, Ukraine, Cambodia, Bangladesh and Pakistan are also new.
The announcement names only some of the 26 additions, so check Ads Manager for your country before planning. Earlier expansions covered Mexico, Brazil, Europe, Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Advertisers buy through self-service Ads Manager or technology partners.
How conversational intent changes the brief
People describe a need, ask follow-ups and narrow their options in one conversation. OpenAI's example is a marathon runner planning race-week meals who discovers a grocery delivery service.
That favours offers that solve a specific, stated problem. Write ads and landing pages around the question someone would ask, not around a keyword list. A SaaS tool might match "how do I automate invoices for a small agency" better than a brand slogan.

Privacy and trust rules to plan around
OpenAI says conversations stay private from advertisers and customer data is not sold. Ads are labelled and kept separate from ChatGPT's answers, and do not influence them.
So you will not receive conversation transcripts or audience data from chats. Measurement has to come from your own site: tagged traffic, server-side conversion events and first-party analytics. Check consent requirements in each market you target.
A first ChatGPT Ads test plan
Start small and measure incrementality. Treat the channel as an experiment until your own numbers justify more spend.

| Step | What to do |
|---|---|
| Offer | Pick one product that answers a common, specific question |
| Landing page | Build a dedicated page that continues the conversation |
| Tracking | UTM tags plus server-side conversion events |
| Budget | Fixed test budget and a stop rule |
| Evaluation | Compare with a holdout or another channel |
Our verdict: worth a controlled test for products people research in conversation, not a budget shift yet. OpenAI says more formats, objectives and measurement options are coming.
