About Miro
Miro is a visual collaboration platform built around an infinite, shared online canvas. Teams use it for brainstorming, workshops, diagrams, product planning and retrospectives, working together on the same board in real time or leaving work for others to pick up later.
Miro now describes itself as an "Intelligent Canvas" and an AI platform for teamwork. Beyond sticky notes and shapes, a board can hold docs, tables, slides, diagrams and prototypes, so ideas can move from rough exploration to a structured plan without leaving the canvas.
Key features
- Infinite multiplayer canvas. Many people can work on one board at once, with free-form content, frames and comments.
- Templates. Miro and its community offer more than 7,000 templates for retrospectives, journey maps, roadmaps, workshops and similar exercises.
- Diagramming. Flowcharts, workflow diagrams and Mermaid diagrams can be built directly on the board.
- Docs, tables and slides. Structured formats sit alongside the visual content, helping teams turn workshop output into plans and presentations.
- Prototypes and wireframes. Teams can sketch wireframes, and on the Business plan build interactive prototypes.
- AI credits and agents. Paid plans include monthly AI credits per member; Business adds AI workflows and agents, and plans include a daily allowance of MCP calls for connecting AI tools.
- Integrations. Miro lists more than 250 integrations; Business adds two-way integrations with Jira, Asana, Linear, ClickUp and Azure.
Who it is for
Miro fits product teams, designers, agile coaches, consultants, educators and anyone who runs workshops or planning sessions, especially distributed teams. Individuals and small groups can try it on the free plan, small teams that need private boards usually choose Starter, and companies that want deeper integrations and AI workflows use Business. Enterprise targets organisations of 30 or more members that need security, governance and regional data hosting.
Pricing at a glance
- Free: $0, with unlimited team members, 3 editable boards, templates, more than 250 integrations and a limited trial of AI credits.
- Starter: $8 per member per month billed yearly, with unlimited and private boards and 25 AI credits per member per month.
- Business: $20 per member per month billed yearly, adding 50 AI credits per member per month, AI workflows and agents, interactive prototypes and two-way integrations.
- Enterprise: custom pricing from 30 members, with advanced security, governance and regional data hosting.
- Miro says annual billing saves 20% compared with monthly billing. Members use paid seats; guests and visitors do not.

Things to consider
- The free plan keeps only three boards editable, which is fine for trying Miro but tight for ongoing team use.
- AI features are metered by credits, with a small allowance on the free plan, so heavy AI use depends on the plan you choose.
- Regional data hosting (EU, US, Australia or Japan) is listed for Enterprise, which matters for organisations with data residency requirements.
- Large boards with many contributors can become hard to navigate; agreeing on frames, templates and naming early helps.
