About OVHcloud
OVHcloud is one of Europe's largest cloud providers. Octave Klaba founded it as OVH in 1999 while a student in Lille, and it grew from an old industrial site in Roubaix, in northern France, which is still its head office. Renamed OVHcloud in 2019, the company designs and builds its own servers, cools them with its own water-cooling system and runs them in 46 data centres on four continents for customers in 140 countries.
It covers almost every layer of hosting: domain names and web hosting, virtual private servers, bare-metal dedicated servers and a Public Cloud built on OpenStack, with an emphasis on European data sovereignty.
Key features
- VPS. Fixed-price virtual servers with NVMe storage, unlimited traffic and a daily backup.
- Dedicated servers. Bare-metal machines for workloads that need a whole server.
- Public Cloud. Virtual machine and GPU instances in one-zone or three-zone regions, private networking (vRack), floating IPs and load balancers.
- Managed Kubernetes and Rancher. Kubernetes with a free control plane plan, a managed private registry and a managed Rancher service.
- Storage and data. Block, File and S3-compatible Object Storage, cold archive, and managed PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Valkey, Kafka and OpenSearch.
- AI. AI Notebooks, AI Training, AI Deploy and AI Endpoints on OVHcloud GPUs.
- Automation. A REST API, the OVHcloud CLI, Python and Go libraries and an official Terraform provider.
Who it is for
OVHcloud suits developers, small businesses and IT teams looking for low-cost servers, and European organisations that want their data held by a European provider. It is also used by larger companies for dedicated and private cloud infrastructure. Teams expecting a polished console and the breadth of managed services of the largest US clouds may find it less streamlined.
Pricing at a glance
VPS plans start at US$4.54 a month for VPS-1 (2 vCores, 4 GB of RAM, 40 GB NVMe), rising to US$8.50, US$12.32 and US$23.37 for VPS-2 to VPS-4, all with unlimited traffic. Public Cloud resources can be billed hourly, monthly or on savings plans with up to 30% off instances. Managed Kubernetes has a Free plan for the control plane, and a Standard plan at US$0.099 per cluster per hour; worker nodes are billed as normal instances. A first Public Cloud project receives US$200 of credit, valid for one month. Prices as checked on 10 October 2026; confirm on the vendor's pricing page.

- Local Zones have limits. Some features, such as load balancers and managed databases, are not available in Local Zones.
- Some services are still arriving. Serverless and VPC are listed as coming soon.
